This is the exact language spoken by the far-right in Europe and the US. Only 50% downvotes on a website dominated by liberals? Or does the government in Karnataka get a free pass because of the party that runs it?
It's a travesty really, now that NLSIU is being arm twisted to grant 50 percent reservation to localities by Bangalore University for grant of land. Shows how jingoists have been trying to capture this beautiful institution. I just wish Central government took enough initiative to nurture our NLS, maybe more funding. atleast we could have saved it from state politics and jingoists. This is why a lot of alums wanted Institute of Eminence tag for NLS but the state govt. meddled in that too.
Please understand you may not be from karnataka, and karnataka rajyotsava may have absolutely no bearing to you. But it does to people, hoisting the "Karnataka flag" (not teh kannada flag, don't be ignorant my dear) is routine of karnataka rajyotsava. I have seen it happen every single year from school to college and beyond, and it is a day of pride.
Why are you so insistant on seeing this from the myopic lens of your own self. This isn't about you! Respect the practices of the state you have chosen to migrate to or find someplace else to be!
