The VC needs to be removed at once and the students must boycott classes until then. This is happened at many NLUs before and VCs resigned because of it. The students must also complained to the AAP CM of Punjab and the Chief Justice of Punjab.
Although not a VC but KS at NUJS lost ICC position due to complaints from students.

If you really want him and his acolytes gone, just demand (and please ensure full compliance) access to both the minutes and agenda notes of all the EC, FC, AC meetings of RGNUL ever since this VC got appointed and also his predecessors. Thereafter, ensure a forensic audit by CAG.
If BCI can ask for police verification and what not for students, why should VCs, faculty members and non-teaching staff not undergo the same grind. Actually, the BCI members should undergo those checks themselves first.

The issues and grievances are the following: The boys and girls want to roam outside their hostels past midnight. They consume and store liquor, drugs, narcotic substances in their rooms. The good students are tormented by these hoolingans but the innocent students are forced to join in the protests. These non-serious students party in restaurants till wee hours and still want entry without any objections by the security or wardens. Many of them do not attend classes but try to pass the exams.
This is the story of 2nd or 3rd tier NLUs wherein a number of faculty (not all the teachers) maintain total silence and enjoy the hungama on campus.
The Patiala VC has committed mistake by entering the girls hostel as he never knew that issues of female privacy can snowball into a controversy and it has really snowballed.
Poor fellow (VC) doesn't know the students politics of NLUs and was caught unaware. Only insiders know the story of tantrums within the 2nd & 3rd tier NLU students.

Recently when IIT Guwahati students asked for their dean to resign, he did so within a day, along with a few others. In contrast, this RGNUL VC wants to hold on to his chair. See the difference between a national institution and a state university. Such people are in love with their chairs/positions - a stark difference in cultures.
