It feels like you are starting the marathon with your head hung. (Old convenient cliche, a career in the Law is a marathon not a sprint). I am sure you bring in real world experience with you to every brief that you hold. Maybe do what you are good at for a years or two.
There are plenty who start their career in the Law in middle and late 30s and still do well in the Law and more importantly in life. Do read up about another GLC Alumnus, one CJI S. Kapadia

Another old convenient cliche, We are a sum total of 4 of closest friends. Well why not 5, you may ask!? Point is, please spend time with quality seniors and friends. And, there is no reason why you should not do just fine.

A 37 year old, who has changed areas of work and cities, more than any cliche definition and markers of success will have you believe. But doing not doing too badly :)
