Can anyone working in this area please give some insights?
There are firms who deal with indirect taxes check the CESTAT website
Negotiations and corruption will require lawyers as intermediaries.
Yep. Especially these repeated amnesty schemes spell a death knell to existing practitioners. Direct taxes came out with a 2024 amnesty, chances are IDT will get another amnesty in 2025
Avoid tax.

No one pays good in tax these days, that practice is almost dead.

Eventually, government will go towards the negotiations mutual ones where department and clients would want to settle the cases.

Lower level litigation would be non-existent
Very few T1 have IDT. Only KCo and SAM. And to some extent, AZB Delhi and Trilegal. Others don't have.
