not sure about sebi but for law firms? totally agree, add WLB to their jobs and even 5LPA seems like a stretch
CTC may be 34 LPA but salary is not more than 14 L (with accommodation) and a bit more without accommodation. This is pre tax.
For the work that they do and the application of mind that they undertake 28 may just be too high
Because not everyone thinks of short term, long term career wise its much more beneficial to join a law firm.
Salary comes at around 24lpa [unmarried , grade a ]. CTC would include other costs that Sebi bears per employee.

Scope of earnings after 10 yrs is very high in law firms in comparison to Sebi.
