It took me nearly a month to receive confirmation, so timelines can vary, especially with Tier 1 firms. Sometimes, candidates with connections are slotted in at the last minute without hesitation.
My advice: Call the HR and politely mention that you need to start making arrangements, such as packing and securing accommodation. Ask them if they could kindly confirm your selection status for the internship and if not, whether they can inform you so you can explore other options. This direct approach may help you get a quicker response, as i had to call the HR like 5-7 times for this man.

For context, this happened after they had already confirmed my internship, and I was only trying to confirm the dates and address. I anyway showed up on the first day of the month of my internship at the location I found on Google and no one questioned me why I was there so it ended fine, I ruefully guess.
