Nice little "even the 3-Year cohot" at the end. Gotta love it.
Reforms coming next year. Apparently the curriculum review committee is recommending bringing back shorter/ more Flexible electives.
What kind of electives are offered? All corporate law?
You should follow Sumit Baudh on Twitter. Iykyk
yup, he made claims that he hasn't been paid for years
I taught an elective a while ago- was paid immediately after submitting final results. For every bad story there might be many where there was no issue.
Seems to be quite an accurate picture. Just curious about one part. You mention how the NLSIU students were interested, while the NUJS students were taking your course for "CV value". How could you make out the differences between the two mentalities?
That's exactly an issue with the kind of electives offered. A lot of us at NLS want more industry centric electives to be offered, but corp law related electives are not offered as often as public law or even those fluff courses on Carl Schmidt and God knows what.
As a current student at NLS with an interest in criminal litigation, the dearth of electives on litigation in general is also very frustrating.
Point 3 is the main issue at hand. Also point 5. That's never happening.
I have always said so, the reason why NLS will never become the best in Asia is because it focuses way too much on humanities.
And your opinion should be taken into account because...?
I have friends in the LLB cohort. They told me they had to study a social science course for 4 credits.
Please tell your friends: delulu is (not always) the solulu
See the LLB course too. They have 4 credits for social science courses. So no escape from humanities even there.
Social Science introduction is integral in even MBA courses like IIMs and ISB. Stop complaining and start reading.
4 out of 148. Get a life with the whining, really
With all due respect, your majesty, no one cares what you have always said.
Completely agree. If you want to study Karl Marx and Foucault, why are you in a law school??? You should be studying sociology!!!
Oh yes, and public law, in addition to the other items mentioned.
Don't engage. Can't expect ivory towers to be capable of actually engaging..go back to reading habermas, kant or whatever make believe nonsense you like.
Exactly. Couldn't have put it better myself.
what do you mean by real life application?
Tell me you went to Oxford without saying you went to Oxford :)
What's all this about me having gone to Oxford? How is it relevant to the point at issue? FYI, I have visited the town three times in the last eight years - beautiful place - but have never been there to study.
Only a person who has never been to Oxford will find this comment trollish.
Absolutely.

I am the same person who commented above, saying I've visited Oxford three times in the last eight years. I didn't ask for this to be marked trollish and I certainly don't think that that tag is appropriate for the comment. In fact, I agree with it.
The Law is the primary tool for economic exploitation and class domination. So fitting to study it in the law school.
Well, I may not be too interested in legal theory and just wanna practice the law? Will NLS accept me?
Who is forcing you to go there? Go somewhere else if you want vocational training.
Yes, for the LLB course. Don't join BA LLB.
You may not be. Other students who promote these courses; of course do.
