At the same time, were the students correct? Recent hostel CCTV footage has shown their transgressions all over the campus. They have literally summoned the first years in a line, ordered them to go the terrace, and then whatever transpired: all of which

Now, if students do that, it is quite right, isn't it? But if a faculty gets angry over the fact that they were mistreated, then it's abuse of power?
Get your story right, then paint your narrative. Don't be childish like these 15-16 students, who're even fifth years, sadly.

Recently, a video circulating on social media has portrayed an incident involving a faculty member from NLUO and fifth-year students. While the video shows a faculty member raising his voice and stepping forward in an intimidating manner, it only tells part of the story.
The faculty member in question is known to be one of the most student-friendly and calmest individuals at the university. If he lost his temper, it was not without reason. Here’s what truly happened.
The students involved had returned heavily intoxicated from a party around midnight. It has been reported, and likely captured by CCTV cameras, that they rode their vehicles into the university’s “Sperm Park” and even took their scooters inside the academic building. After causing this disturbance, they moved upstairs to the terrace.
This is where things get murky. Allegedly, they summoned about 20 first-year students to the terrace. Whether the first-years were coerced or came willingly is unclear, but the students claim no ragging occurred. However, a complaint was filed, and a ragging complaint is not to be taken lightly.
Another faculty member who came upstairs believed ragging was taking place. In response, he made the ill-advised decision to call the parents of two students in the middle of the night. While it was wrong to involve parents at such an hour, this does not excuse the students’ subsequent actions.
In their anger, the students confronted the faculty member downstairs, surrounding and intimidating him to the point of nearly thrashing him. This is where the faculty member in the video intervened. Alongside a female colleague, he tried to de-escalate the situation. However, when one of the students pushed the female faculty member, the male faculty lost his composure and shouted. His reaction was not without justification.
Things escalated further when one of the students allegedly called the female faculty member later that night, threatening to bring 400 people to her home if the matter wasn’t resolved by 10:00 AM.
It’s important to note that not all 15 students involved were active participants in the intimidation or threats; some were merely present during the incident. However, they have all been ordered to vacate their hostels immediately. This decision is justified, and there is no legitimate ground to contest it. There no legitimate grounds to even call for a protest. It’s done. You can’t do anything about it. You did it, now face the consequences.
Moreover, almost university has an anti-ragging squad, which includes external members. When a ragging complaint is lodged, it is mandatory to file an FIR, which has been done in this case.
To the readers, I leave it to you to decide whether this was an abuse of authority. While the faculty member made a mistake by calling parents late at night, the students’ actions—vandalism, intimidation, and threats—are inexcusable.
The university has followed protocol, and despite this, the students are resisting by releasing one-sided videos. Meanwhile, ample CCTV footage exists showing their misconduct across campus.
The problem with some students today—particularly these 15—is that they believe they’re above all rules, laws, and regulations. They’re still living in a small university bubble, and now that it’s burst, they’re gasping for air, unable to make sense of the situation. Don’t be like them. Be humble. Ask for your rights, but also respect others. With this attitude, you’ll be eaten alive when you step into the real world.
An advice? Don’t be foolish. Accept your mistakes and the consequences, which, after a rightful hearing, would be the justified punishment.
The alleged perpetrator has been one of the most student friendly and supportive faculties of NLUO. So, till the time the janta over legallyindia is not aware of what these students have been doing in the hostel under the garb of their seniority, let's not take sides.

Partying and being intoxicated is allowed but not to the extent where you start abusing faculties.
Why didn't you initiate proceedings in proctor board or disciplinary committee of the college instead of abusing students? Did you catch them red handed while they were ragging? If not, then how come you conclude there was ragging? Show us some evidence of ragging? And for ragging there are proper mechanisms in place, why don't you resort to them rather then abusing students and threating the ones who record you behaving erratically?
Btw, whether PR agents of NLUO work out of VC office or Registrar Office? Or best case scenario, Dean's office?
