TBH I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, making a reel like this is a good way to mobilise the youth to seek justice. Also, it's inevitable that the incident will one day be the subject of a crime files episode, or inspire a movie or documentary (just as Nirbhaya inspired Delhi Crimes on Netflix). Such dramatisations help future generations to know what happened and keep the incident alive in our memories. So the students have taken the initiative before anyone else which is good.
On the other hand, it is perhaps a bit early to do this, as the incident is still raw in everyone's minds. I also didn't like the aesthetics of it: the flashing red light, dark room like a horror movie etc. It could have been done more tastefully. There are also some key factual issues which we need the CBI to investigate. The reel shows one perpetrator, but it's still not known if there were multiple people. The CBI is investigating if there was a larger conspiracy at play
What do all of you think? Do you think I am being unnecessarily critical of a good student initiative? Just to clarify, I don't doubt the good intentions of the students and applaud their sincerity to spread awareness of the case. We all need to fight for justice.✊
