Placement numbers should not be seen in absolute terms and instead as a percentage. NLUD has done fine. GNLU has done exceptionally well so it may seem like NLUD is falling behind but that's not the case.

NLIU over NLUD is a nonsense decision when the former was churning out fake degrees not too long ago. NLUD is a legacy institution which continues to be an academic powerhouse with a solid track record of placements. GNLU is a viable alternative due to its steady improvements in the last few years.

That's a preposterous ranking and an irresponsible statement to make on a platform used by students. NLIU's placements have not been at par with GNLU, much less NLUD. CAM and some Mumbai based firms pick up from GNLU and most Delhi firms hire in big numbers from NLUD. NLUD lost some ground to JGLS but continues to be a premier institute for placements. GNLU has done really well in the last 4-5 years since the new director took over. NLIU has continued to steadily sit within its comfort zone.

As a person who with education loan himself, i can tell you that NLUD provides ample opportunities to secure jobs. If you're looking for ONLY tier 1 firm jobs, day zero places around 30 people. If you broaden your horizons and look for T2 firms, In house jobs, and other recruiters, you would easily get placed on day one. Literally people with ranks in the 80s and 90s get placed on day one out of a batch of 120 students only. Best place is NLUD if you're interested in litigation + judiciary + upsc + academia + foreign llms (rhodes included) because no other NLU provides better avenue for this. (nls provides better academic and llm support for sure)

Be clear: if your goal is t1 corporate job only and only that, and you are absolutely certain before even starting law school that you dont want to do anything else in terms of your career, i would say best place is NUJS then NLS then NLUJ then NALSAR. However, if you are even slightly interested in litigation + upsc + judiciary + academia etc, prefer NLUD over anything else.

Even in its worst day zero (last year's - in 2023) out of a pool of 50 students, 40 had jobs by the time they graduated (the batch size at that time was 80). This year's day zero was much better. 33 offers from around 40-50 odd students who applied for day zero jobs. (Pool is of 85 odd students but most others are upsc, judiciary aspirants who want a backup that's why they are just signing in for the pool to get day one jobs which are relatively more chill). Whoever wants jobs, gets job by the time they graduate even if they put the bare minimum efforts of doing 1 or 2 internships.

Please don't rely on the biased advice given here. Here if you write NUSRL student quality is better than NLU Delhi's (which is a nonsensical claim), you will still get upvotes. Better rely on data released officially.

Or you can sacrifice your seat at a top university at India's capital, which will only grow as more people become partners in the next 3-4 years. The choice is yours. I already graduated from NLUD years ago and got ample opportunities, including a T1 job if I wanted even though I had a terrible rank.

I’m not from NLUD, but it clears NLIU and GNLU any-day. GNLU is shaping the discourse on LI because of their PR Army, please don’t fall prey to it. GNLU has barely placed 25% of its batch. You must always compare the student crowd, and NLUD has way better students and professors. In terms of recent crowd quality, I’d say NLUD>NLIU>GNLU. This will get heavily downvoted because of the PR Army, but this is an honest review by a present law student.
