I want a JOB.
Does getting a callback from small firms increase my credibility or highlight my limited knowledge in the field? Or should I aim higher and target Tier 1 firms, especially since I will be in the middle of my 4th year, i.e., after the 7th semester?
I am just confused.
I feel like getting a callback from a small firm would do two things:
1. 1 Increase my chances of getting absorbed in a decent firm that pays more than Tier 2 but less than Tier 1.
2. 2 Increase my credibility by showing interest and knowledge in small transactional works in such corporate firms.

But I am not sure whether this understanding is good or not. I don't have any Tier 1 experience under my belt, but I am targeting one for Summer 2025, as Winter 2024 seems booked now.
Furthermore, since there have been dismissals and reduced hiring at Tier 1 firms for the batch of 2024 from my university, my confidence in being hired by Tier 1 firms has diminished. Should I focus on getting an internship at a Tier 1 firm and not worry about securing a job there, then consider moving to boutique firms at the time of hiring?
Small fish in big pond? Or big fish in small pond? Both has its advantages and disadvantages. But depends - what do you want to be?
This boutique law firm is headed by a Partner who has experience as a partner at multiple tier-1 law firms.(khaitan ,sam, cam etc)
