Agree with this. Among NLUO, NUALS, HNLU, TNNLU and RMLU, it'd be wiser to opt for either NLU-O or TNNLU considering the infrastructure and student diversity. Also Tamil Nadu, the second largest economy and Odisha, a progressing state, do qualify as an important criteria. Plus proximity to Madras High court and Chennai which is the largest economic centre in the south is a huge plus point.

Tier 1 : top 5 NLUs + Jindal Tier 2 next 5 NLUs +DU+GLC +Jamia+IIT+hazra ect.

Tier 3 and beyond: everything else.

Also please stop treating Law schools as castes, it is as stupid as franchise sports fans. There is a lot of variation of people within colleges and between college, a lot of stupid people (in my opinion) in tier 1s and alot of very smart in tier 2s & 3s.

Definitely ahead of GNLU on all moot and ADR competition fronts. NLS/NALSAR/NUJS still give us serious competition on that front. Not that GNLU is bad or anything, but be realistic, besides the improving placement numbers mostly because of your much larger batch size, NLUD is miles ahead and will be preferred by nearly everyone who has to choose between the two.

You're the only one who keep thinking that you still have better faculty. Others know that you really don't. Other than Anoop, there is no NLUD faculty who is better than the average NLU teacher across the country at present. As for those competition performances, you are not ahead of the other older NLUs in that front either. UPSC is the only place that you're ahead and that has got nothing to do with the university, faculty, or curriculum. Only location.

NLS Bangalore (JGLS like Batch Size is a major problem, erodes quality and placements) Even thou NLS is 1 it could go down a lot.

Nalsar Hyderabad - Consistent Performance

NLU Delhi - Consistent Rise

NUJS Kolkata (Legacy Law Schools, but eroding because it's in Kolkata)

NLU Jodhpur - Meh but okay. Not improving but not degrading.

GNLU - Emerging and good performance

NLIU Bhopal

MNLU Mumbai - Emerging but not satisfactory (Warning - avoid other MNLUs)

NLUO NUALS HNLU TNNLU RMLNLU etc are all in the same grade. Go wherever you like.

NLUO, TNNLU has shown significant growth over the past half decade. But that growth will die soon.

Other NLU's are bleh but gives you NLU Tag

You kids keep making two fundamental errors:

- You assume that rankings of 15 years ago are still valid today, when in fact rankings keep changing

- You only look at placements. You don't appreciate the value of good faculty, admin, infra and opportunities like good guest lectures, conferences with practitioners, student exchanges abroad etc. Placements should get max 60 to 70% of weightage, not more than that.

The ranking below should be the best ranking as of 2024, if you look at things holistically. I am using the Moody's rating system of Aaa (A++) to C.

1 (Tier A++). NLSIU

2-3 (Tier A+): NALSAR/NLUD

4-5 (Tier A): JGLS/NUJS

6-7 (Tier B++): GNLU/NLUJ

8-11: (Tier B+): NLIU/MNLU-M/RMLNLU/RGNUL

12-16 (Tier B): New DU course/HNLU/NUALS/BITS Law School/Symbiosis Pune

17-21 (Tier C++): GLC/DSNLU/NLUO/MNLU-N/MNLU-A

22-30 (Tier C+ to Tier C): IIM Rohtak, KIIT, HPNLU, DNLU, NLU Patna, NLU Ranchi, Bennet, Nirma, TNNLU

Hi, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I am a third year at Nalsar training mentees to help them earn a decent rank in the coveted clat/ailet exam. I have seen aspirants getting confused over this issue of which college is better and why is it better. Governmental rankings and newspaper reports are often misleading and biased. Now I can’t elaborate everything on a single LI post, but I can sure do something about the rankings to help everyone out. I have taken reviews from my seniors who are working in the industry, I have talked to some of the professors across nlus to understand their mindset and now it’s time to unveil the list based on several parameters. Commentators please stay away from trolling and drop your two cents! The list is as follows: -

1. NLS

2. NLUD

3. NALSAR/NUJS

4. NUJS/NALSAR

5. GNLU

6. NLUJ/NLIU

7. NLIU/NLUJ

Now NALSAR and NUJS are seemingly interchangeable and the same goes for both NLIU/NLUJ. For instance this year NLIU did amazingly well in terms of domestic placements, whereas NLUJ missed it by a couple of good shots. That doesn’t make a particular NLU superior.
