This aspect is so underrated. You can't expect first-world behavior from third-world countries. India works on feudal patterns of patronage, which create instability at every level to reinforce loyalties.
So true. I'm amazed by indians, even older ones, who think India is suddenly developed because certain companies hold larger cash and are growing yoy, while hiring bonded slaves and violating all legal and human rights with impunity.
