We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

I would not recommend bvp if you are seeking a decent education or placements.
I want to emphasize that there are absolutely no placements there, I joined the college for the freedom it gave and because I wasn't given much of an option by my parents.
If you're not confident in finding a good opportunity by yourself and want to be placed, do not waste your time or money here and take the drop.
Best of luck!!
However there are other considerations. Are you from Pune? Do you plan to practice in Pune after graduating? If money an issue, etc, can you afford a drop? e.g. id recommend BVP over say KC or JGLS PGCL if the person lived in Pune and wanted to litigate and settle there only

Half of your batchmates will be married uncle aunties in their mid 30s to 40s. They have full time jobs/businesses and will only show up twice a year just to give exams.Remaining half will be ambition-less kids with baap ka paisa who have don't really care about jobs career etc, they're better off than to worry about stupid stuff like career.
Regarding college -
Teachers are decent but they teach useless outdated stuff which won't help you in working as a lawyer. There is no real hands-on training given, other colleges atleast give you opportunities for exposure to a certain level but at bvp everyone knows that it's a farzi college so no one really cares, bass saste mai degree mil jayegi uske aage tum tumhara dekh lo.
Also there is no such thing as placements here, absolute 0 placements, don't go by the advertisements, it's all fake. Most of the placements they are quoting are actually not jobs but simple one month internships, so it's practically a scam.
Silver lining -
No attendance issues so u can intern all year round like glc students (that is if you somehow can get internships on your own).
I do know a handful of people who have taken this route and have gone ahead to do well for themselves. Although they are more of an exception than the norm.
But, will being a couple years older than most of my peers affect my career opportunities, you think?
Is this a good alternative? The fees is cheap at about 22k per annum, and it seems to have good ratings.
Should I take admission or instead take a drop? I'm pretty confident I can get into the 3 year courses at better institutes if I take a gap year. Is that worth?
