If you can get through RCC, that's preferable. Use alumni contacts only as a last resort.
Bhai tune last line me an ke jagah a likha hai. Email writing ki art ki baat mat kar. Rehne de.
bhai college bhi batade konsa h tera, litigation thread nhi h ye middle class/first gen shiner.
what are you gonna do then?? these foolish HRs judge us non-nlu people with our college name. when i cold email 50 people, 5 forward my cv to the hr and one accepts it. its the hard truth. you might be from a good college but i am not.
Boss this is not online dating where you play elaborate games. Put your self interest first and be shameless
Why is it a cheap move?

You want help and reaching out to Alums
But what about putting your reputation on line and appearing desperate? There is also a potential of you getting backlisted.
I'm from a T-1 NLU. Do you think I should resort to mailing and reaching out to alums on LinkedIN maybe? I personally don't see merit in this because it appears to be really a cheap move when RCC can get internships albeit a bit late.
I am a first gen lawyer with middle class economic status.

I secured internships by emailing out alumni as they were happy to help.

Yes alumni does help.
Generally as a rule - colleges where alumni come out and help progress. And colleges where alumni are unresponsive fall even from top of rankings. NLUs but even more for pvt ones.
Cold emailing works. Email writing is an art. Knowing personality of partners from linkedin and gauging who will be human enough to reply will all be an art known only to finest of internship seekers. It's a unknown art and better left unknown.
i am from a little bit reputed college in pune, my alumni did not even reply to mails. ya ya i understand they are very busy to answer any cold emails. i am just answering this question.
