Vigilance commission warned ONGC not to hire from campus to prevent the nepotism fraud and favouritism.

Court rulings
Have consistently help that it's illegal to do campus placement for permanent government job.
Then why conduct government exams if you can do back entry.
We should get these appointment cancelled.
Although you are correct that SC has ruled that PSU jobs should be based on competitive exams, which I think is a wrong ruling. A PIL should in fact be filed against this ruling, as PSUs should be treated as independent corporations.
So off late PSU have used CLAT PG score for recruitments. I guess since ONGC Videsh works outside of India it may have found a loophole in the SC ruling and hence trying to recruit directly from GNLU. I believe this is a huge boost for NLUs. Someone should file a PIL in SC and restart on campus recruitment drive of PSUs.
Do they pay more than 15L at joining?
T1 firms pay 20L+ A1 level and 30L from SA1 level.
Isn't it illegal to hire from campus? It will bypass all fair competition norms. It excludes other college students from having a fair chance in government jobs.
Kia Motors / Amarchand can tell we prefer NLUs.
Government PSU's and Organizations are not permitted to give preference to one college over other.
IBPS, CLAT PG etc these exams are conducted to hire lawyers for PSU's.
Or these PSU's can conduct seperate tests with eligibility criteria. But this is illegal. Must be challenged.
Read law dude. Campus Placements are illegal for PSU's
Public Sector Undertakings for permanent jobs have to mandatorily hire through a competetive exam. It's patently illegal what ONGC is doing. Time to file a writ petition against this.
You can't Dole out permanent government job via campus placements.
Privates law firms, companies can hire however whomever they want. Government hiring has to follow protocols. A Government PSU for a permanent job has to give equal opportunity and they can't discriminate on basis of college.
NLU Delhi in the past did the same - they preferred Foreign LLM grads as faculty and authorities immidiately shut down the hiring.
Earlier SEBI used to hire via campus. Court and Government had to step in to stop the nonsense.
Thanks for the information. Will start legal action soon.
With this, GNLU would be able to place students not only in corp firms, litigations chambers but also in major PSUs. Only NLS before this has managed to get GAIL got campus placements. And for ONGC- Videsh also it has been an absolute masterstroke to recruit talented students from one fo India's top ranked law schools. The recruitment will take place on June end.
