You can study anywhere. If you work hard and stay focused on your studies and on building skills for placements, you can succeed whether it is NLUO Odisha or DU. Your effort matters the most and with dedication you can create good opportunities for yourself from anywhere.

Also the 3-year LLB program has only recently started and the first batch will pass out in 2026 so right now we can only make assumptions. The real picture will become clear once the first batch pass

And yes DU is definitely good no doubt about that . But an NLU is also an NLU. I know the 3-year LLB there has just started and it is new, but because of the NLU brand and the high fees they charge, I believe they will try to provide good placement opportunities as well. In the end, if you work hard and build your skills, you can benefit from those opportunities.

Don't act so high and mighty. The senior advocates whom you salivate after are from 3-year courses. The law firm partners whom you worship have a significant number among them who never cracked CLAT. Clearing that exam isn't any guarantee of quality. Had it been thus, then NLUO 5-year batches would never have had to struggle for placement. Be thankful for your privilege, be humble and learn to respect others. Otherwise you won't reach anywhere worth speaking about in real life.

Nluo will never give any placement opportunities to 3yrs. You have to do it yourself. University doesn't even pitch in for 5yrs ba LLB why would it aid 3yrs llb

So if u r going for the tag, go ahead. But speaking from personal experience, 5yrs >> 3yrs llb goes in market.

And honestly for 3 year LLB people you guys are lucky that admin only supports you. Because 5yrs won't. They fucking wrote clat exam, prepared day and night for it. Struggled for it. What did u do? Applied and got in. And then asking others to like you. While you dilute the culture with zero knowledge. Hell with 3year llb.

Don't go for DU! It's crap. Barely any placements and if you don't have any contacts already you are doomed. Networking and all doesn't help. Most students are not inclined for corporate and those that are interning at good places are already well connected. Source: CLC 2024 Jobless graduate.

Same suggestion. If can't afford jindal, DU is the best option for LLB 3-year in your case. Choose CLC or Campus Law Center. That's very prestigious brand. Chief Justice of India is product of CLC. You can get corporate jobs if you work hard. NLU Odisha is a lot of fee with almost zero results. They are not able.to place their 5 year law graduates. How can they plac 3 year LLB??

In my opinion, the opportunities you can get in Delhi are tremendous. I know a few people who interned with me at SAM and Trilegal (Delhi offices) who were from the Faculty of Law, Delhi. Regarding the city being a non-issue, I used to think this when I got into NLUO, believing I could survive the city and focus on completing my 5 years. The city of Cuttack, while very pleasant and peaceful, lacks amenities. While surviving and tolerance levels are subjective topics, there will be times when you'll hate staying in your room, but you can't go to places to chill or relax as the auto drivers charge exorbitantly from NLUO to CDA, and there are no good places to stay. It sometimes takes a toll.

While I also agree about the litigation placement wave in FOL, firms will prefer a student from the 3-year law program at DU over NLUO. The biggest reason is that the course at NLUO started just recently, whereas DU has a good reputation and a strong alumni base in law firms, especially for the 3-year law course. There are people who are now partners or even managing partners at law firms. While opportunities provided by the Internship Committee are available for the 5-year course at NLUO, for the 3-year LLB, the opportunities are less or can be considered negligible in terms of internships. Firms are choosing 5 year LLB students over 3 Year so i believing your corporate dream can get hamper here (chances are very high).

1)I'll be taking admission this year , I didn't get admission in NLS ,

2) I'll be getting admission in Jindal but fee would be a big obstacles that's why I am not considering Jindal .

3) I am not a b.tech so cannot go for iitk.

4) few friends of mine who are studying in du said that placement opportunities in corporate are not good , there is a litigation environment not a corporate one and faculty & admin are not that supportive for placement. ( These are the feedback from them . Pls rectify if something is not true.)

5) I got 97.6 percentile in mh cet law . I might not get GLC and ILS.

Have u personally seen placement scenario of du.

There are few friend of mine studying in faculty of law said that corporate placement scene is not good there and most of the students are not focused and rest focus on litigation.

And I enjoy the life at small city so I'll have no problem in Cuttack.

Go for DU. They have better placements. In NLUO the 3 year LLB is new and as of right now it will take time for firms to give them placements. There is a big inclination towards 5 years LLB regarding placements.

Furthermore, you will have a better life in Delhi and can easily do internships.

NLU Odisha is a decent choice for 3 year LLB degree programme.

However I believe the following options to be superior if you get selected or afford:

1. NLS Bangalore

2. Jindal Global Law School

3. IIT Kharagpur (if you are BTech and apply for LLB in IPR)

4. DU Law Faculty

5. GLC Mumbai

Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore are better cities for study and practice of law. IIT Kharagpur is a great campus to pursue a degree programme.

NLUO is not worth 2.5 LPA fees.

Level of faculty will be kind of same with more academic rigour at NLUO. Study environment is same at both places, if you want to study you will study, and if you want to smoke up all day, you will do that. So study factor depends on you.

Placement wise there is no history of placements for 3-year LLB in NLUO as their first batch will graduate in 2026, but DU has history.

DU will cost you less and you can intern easily in Delhi. Because in NLUO too, your placement will depend on for how long and where have you interned.

Had it been a 5-year course, my suggestion would have been completely opposite.

I am about to take admission in nluo, I am getting admission in du also but I have heard that du is not good in terms of study environment, internship, placement and faculty and Is nluo really worth 2.5 lakh fee?

Ps:as of now I have no other option other than these two.
