I know that as a fresher I'm not of much value to a firm. But the only thing that I can guarantee about myself is that I'm dedicated and a hard worker. I will get the job done even if it requires me to be awake for 48 hours, as I have before.
Switching vs Giving law a try
Time: Switching would definitely consume a lot of time. Giving law a try might not be appealing in the begining but the amount of time you're gonna spend will pay in longer run.
Efforts: unless the new field you're switching to is pre-established, it's gonna take more efforts or at least as much it took in law. Do the math.
I'd advise you to intern this year atleast at two places. Don't just do for the sake of it. Take feedbacks from people who work there before applying. See if you like the work/people/pay.
There's no harm in commencing your career with 20k-30k. It's okay to earn this much. My friend earns 25k a month. He's having the exposure I'm never going to have in my entire life. His boss started with 25k a month too and now the boss/partner makes over 65L a year which is incredible. Of course it took the boss over 10 years and lots of efforts.
Graduate from Batch of 2024, I come from a shitty college whose first batch passed out in recent years.
I have started feeling this way that to get placed in T1 or for that matter even T2 you need references and that aaint happening first generation lawyer and all that shit.
Have been struggling for the past 6 months to get a decent role in a law firm in the trasactional space but not even able to get a single shortlist. Reaching out to prople on LinkedIN is also not helping.
College was sending 20-30K oppourtunites and was expectiong me to joined.
Exhausted all my Personal connects but arent of any use.
Is this how it is or things will change idk.

Also, it might help to not exist in both extremes — you shouldn't be losing hope in yourself, but if you're in this scenario, then you possibly also need to introspect more before going ahead with the assumption of 'I'm competent' — you've graduated recently and like most A0s, probably know little of value to a firm. A0s are not hired based on their competence and value they bring — that's negligible — they're hired on the basis of the potential they show in being able to put in the hard work and learn the ropes. Accordingly, restructure your application to show precisely that — tangible demonstration of sincerity in everything you've done so far, baseline knowledge and a much deeper interest in the area of the law, and good communication skills.
Lastly, keep a keen eye on Linkedin and Bar&Bench's law firm news columns to constantly figure out who may be hiring where.

OR
Apply for long term internship at LKS Ahmedabad. You'll get paid at least 18k per month which is more than enough to cover your expenses in Ahmedabad.
AND
Have faith in yourself. I took 2 years drop before clat. It's okay if you're a 2022/23 grad and is not placed yet. It could or couldn't be fault of your own but there's no point in going down that road. The best you can do is go forward.
Be smart while applying. Banglore is not a legal hub to begin with. Ahmedabad is expanding with lks moving to New office and so does wadiya. Also, kco opened new office very recently. Consider going to Ahmedabad for it's cheaper. Do the following from tomorrow:
1. Apply to wadiya and/or lks for internship.
2. Regularly apply to firms in Delhi for job interview.
3. Talk to your friends/confidant regularly.
4. Cut down on your expenses.
5. Stop using social except LinkedIn.
6. You must think some other fellow is nothing compared to you but has a job. Everyone thinks that but such thought process isn't going to bring any good. If you can't be happy for other person.. at least have the maturity to only focus on yourself.
7. Exercise or walk. Don't meditate. Start meditation when something good happens.
8. Idk whether world is cruel or not.. if there's only luck factor or not. There's no point in thinking about such things so don't waste time. Focus on yourself. Try to grow. You must have had amazing days be it with your friends or family or cousins or even strangers. There are people who have your best interests. They deserve that you're happy. Just consider doing those things I mentioned.
