IIULER was constituted India International University of Legal Education and Research of the Bar Council of India Trust at Goa Act, 2021 (Goa Act 16 of 2021) - It is the only PRIVATE UNIVERSITY in the State of Goa.
Refer UGC Website to know IIULER is a PRIVATE University: https://www.ugc.gov.in/universitydetails/university?type=0wBmFB1Rb4JGVzq9UP/iOg==
They are actually deceiving people and students by stating it as a Public University!
Never ever fall in their trap!
As a private university, they should not be allowed to use the term "India International" as that leads aspirants to think that it is a public university. But then, NLUs also should not be using "National" in their names given that they are all state universities. The use of "national" falsely leads aspirants to believe that NLUs are national universities (when they are not).
Here's the press release by the Ministry of Law and Justice clearly stating that all NLUs are state universities. https://pib.gov.in/PressReleaseIframePage.aspx?PRID=1910438
Is it time to file a PIL to bar NLUs from using "national"?
In the Brochure of 2022 and 2023, it was not mentioned. Moreover, in the IIULER website, they did not mention anywhere it as a Private University established under Section 2(f) of UGC Act.
If you make calls to the University, they will state it as a Public University. If you Mail them regarding this, they will not make a single response including VC, Faculties and Office Staffs
They even did not conduct coursework to the PhD scholars properly! (In 100 days, they even did not conduct a single hour as class! - March 18, 2024 till date)
