Consultants travel a lot compared to associates, they also make more money than associates.
Associate are not on full time employment they are om retainership basis agreement. Retainership is extended from time to time
What is the difference between an Associate and a Consultant at tier 1 law firms?

Both of them seem to be performing similar tasks so why is there a difference in their designations?
