When the choice is between limited compromise of privacy and enabling illegality, the law usually chooses the former.
You clearly have no idea as an individual’s privacy should be maintained, so please stop talking

Roll numbers are still released, it's not completely opaque. This is a good balance between transparency and privacy.
Probably to avoid unnecessary speculation by jobless people on the internet.
Because a formal inquiry has to be conducted in order for that to happen. However, names would have meant that people could have better figured out whether there is any prima facie reason why such an inquiry is to be demanded.
Roll numbers of the candidates are available which can be traced to the individual, in case of any inquiry. How is it a loss of transparency?
Then Sudhir happened. He is the one in favour of max opacity.
Till 2020 CLAT used to give full merit list. Not putting out the list is risky and dangerous. Fraud, Admissions scandals can never be found out. Transparency goes to garbage. Seats can be given out to anyone in sketchy manner.
Violation of privacy of the concerned individuals.
Why did clat stopping giving the names of candidates against the merit list?
