An individual so connected is a part of the system for over 20 years (almost since childhood), before an outsider is
I do not say that being industrious, fair, sharp enough to grasp the subject, basic drafting skills, and research skills don't matter. Even amongst the connected, the ones who have these skills definitely shine better
Outsiders, specifically unconnected outsiders, will have to grease their elbows way, way more than a connected individual would, simply on account of not being born in the right family for litigation
I speak from personal experiences
Batchmates having such a background are way way ahead of me, despite all of us having fairly comparable skills
Adding value and stuff is a myth
No matter how much value you actually add, the senior will not let you get ahead of the curve, or even provide proper mentorship
