I know you haven't asked for this advice, but you have other options than a Stephens + JD or a Stephens + three year Indian LLB or Indian LLB + American LLM open to you. You may wish to consider these too.
I know of someone in England that did an undergrad at Stephens and then an LLB at Durham. The guy has secured a training contract at Latham & Watkins' London office (Latham being an American law firm, and one of the largest in the world). So even if the U.S. doesn't work out immediately, you still do have the other options, such as the possibility of going to England with an Indian undergraduate degree which is not in law and studying/practicing there. NB: Don't try NALSAR BALLB + LLB in England, because the visa authorities in England don't allow that kind of thing. An LLB from England would be (i) on the same academic level as your NALSAR BALLB (i.e., Bachelors degree, RQF Level 6); and (ii) in the same subject, meaning that an LLB in England after a BALLB in NALSAR wouldn't represent 'academic progression', which the British rules on student visas consider to be very important. If, like the guy I know, you were to get a TC at a big American firm in London with a combination of a Stephens BA + an LLB from a Russell Group university, you could have a few years' PQE in London, sort yourself out with a British passport and immigrate to the U.S. with that. A longer pathway, but still gets you to your eventual goal. Immigration rules justification: you could do two undergraduate degrees - a Stephens BA + a UK LLB - because, while both of them are at RQF Level 6, they are degrees in different subjects, and as they lead to a career in the law, would still constitute a credible academic plan.
Or if you really want to have all manner of experiences, some UK law schools (King's, UCL and LSE specifically) have what are called 'dual degree partnerships' with U.S. universities. Essentially, you do a four year law degree, called LLB - JD, recognised for purposes of being a practicing lawyer in both the UK and the U.S. Two of your four years are spent studying law in the UK, and two years are spent studying law in the U.S. To give you a sense of what the partnerships for such degrees look like, King's collaborates with Georgetown, giving its English and American Law degree holders a degree of LLB - JD (two years spent at King's and two at Georgetown) and both UCL and LSE have collaborations with Columbia (so, depending on where you get admitted in the UK, you would spend two years in the UK at UCL or LSE, and two years at Columbia), getting a qualifying law degree that could allow you to practice in both England and Wales and the U.S.
