The way Indian academia stands now, reputation doesn't matter if it's Scopus indexed. Sad, but true.
What's the major differences in applying in reputed journals and average ones ?
I'm 30. Spent loads of time in competitive exams. I have a LLM and looking for a PhD now. What would you advice me to get a stable career in academia ?
Does the institute or advisor matter for a PhD ? In the sense that an average advisor from a top tier1 University vs a top advisor from a tier 2 University? Also, how likely is the chance of getting to teach in the same university from where you do your PhD ?
If the cards are played correctly, then your two mandatory publications for PhD would be Scopus. That would check both the boxes.
Yeah, that's also correct. Connections, PhD and publications. But PhD more important than publications imo. Scopus journals take their sweet time to respond to scholars of Vishwaguru.
You missed out on publication. Anyone who can manage 2-3 SCOPUS publications during Masters/PhD will stand at an advantage for a fresher Assistant Professor position.
