Though a Foreign national by passport, my ward studied in India for last 4 years (Gr9 to Gr12) and the FI fee is costly for my family. Can my ward appear CLAT as a General category student and treated as Indian citizen when get selected? Please advise.
Only Indian nationals are eligible. But there is no requirement to prove citizenship at any point so you can do it anyway, they don't verify
there is a Delhi High Court case wherein a Korean qualified BALLB from NALSAR and applied for BCD enrollment and it was denied
Yes a foreign national cannot give the bar exam in India. That wasnt the question. What was asked was whether foreign citizen can sit for CLAT/AILET. The answer to that is yes
Absolutely, yes. I know for a fact that there is a British citizen studying in one of the NLUs who had acquired his seat via general category.
If you apply through the general category and have the requisite rank, I see no reason you won't get admitted in the general category.
Well. I think you should make use of the foreign national quota in law schools. You don't even need to attempt CLAT. Admissions are done on the basis of board marks and what's better is the competition is very low. So cheers!
