First, what is the difference between Miscellaneous and Regular? SC treats matters in which notice has not yet been issued as miscellaneous, these are mostly fresh appeals or SLPs. The SC also sometimes is keen to pass orders in fresh appeals or SLPs, these types of matters, though no longer fresh (in that notice has been issued), retain their tag as being miscellaneous. As a practical fact, most appeals and SLPs in which SC issues notice tend to retain their tag as miscellaneous, indicating that the SC would like to finish them off sooner rather than later.
Regular on the other hand is a list of matters in which the SC has issued notice but doesn't see the need to finish immediately, therefore they are okay with taking up those matters as and when they get the time. These are matters usually where a SLP has been admitted and converted into a Civil Appeal.
In sum, let's say you file an appeal, when it comes up on the first date it is miscellaneous, if the SC issues notice and fixes a date in some time, it would retain its status as being miscellaneous. The SC could also decide to admit the appeal and hear it as and when it gets the chance, then the matter would fall into the regular list.
Going from here. The Miscellaneous (advance) is the list of Miscellaneous matters that may be listed on a given date, this is not final, it is subject to modifications and deletions. The Miscellaneous (Main) is the list of Miscellaneous that are listed on a given date. The Miscellaneous (supplementary) is the list of Miscellaneous matters that were added last minute. Similarly for regular.
