I keep reading about "human dignity"; whether in jurisprudence, human rights, constitution, international law etc. but where is the concept explained? Like I understand freedom and equality etc. but the term "dignity" though mentioned is never really explained in detail. Can someone point out resources which will help me understand more about the concept of "dignity" ? Like scholars and literature I can read to understand this concept.
Having read considerable volume of jurisprudence and scholarship on dignity - can say that Remains of the Day is the finest rumination on dignity Iβve come across thus far.
If you want to confine yourself to scholarly sources, check out Samuel Moyn, Christopher McCrudden and Remy Debes.

I've read these and more. However, do you know any Indian Scholar or anyone from the Global South dealing with this topic ?
