We want LI to be one of the friendliest places on the internet, where lawyers and law students help each other with their career related queries and occasionally discuss other stuff that might affect their lives too. In other words:
1. Be kind, respectful and helpful to each other.
2. Be bona fide, truthful, genuine and curious.
3. Assume the best intention of others.

Of course, donβt sit to memorise all of it - but know where to look for when doing a deliverable. Nothing can prepare you for this. Itβs either for you or itβs absolutely not. Not everyoneβs cup of tea. If you donβt understand it and lose interest in it then itβs not for you and your fresher year is the best time to switch. But it takes time and patience. If you still canβt find enough fucks to give within 6 months then quit - and I say this with a lot of optimism. If you think the grass is greener on the other side, then it probably is.
Also, like, chill out until you start off. Donβt bother trying to prepare for a job you can easily learn while youβre at it. Youβre not going to get this time back. Live your life. Take YOLO-ing seriously. Time is money and every moment is costly.
You will mostly be focusing on due diligence and proof-reading. It helps to be thorough with the Companies Act, ICDR, LODR. You can also pull out and refer to DRHPs, RHPs, Prospectus online and that will help you understand how it works.
As a query to teams working specifically on cap markets - why is it that pagination takes so long? Is there a particular way of going about it that takes hours?
I have seen threads of "b&f-oversimplified", would be great if we could have "capital markets-oversimplified" as well. Thank you in advance.
