As someone clueless why would you want to switch from a T1 to a T2 (assuming you are already in the M&A space)? If you’re switching from one area of law to another I understand. Guessing T1 will have better salary and that the work life balance won’t be that different in T1 vs T2. Thoughts?

They are just keeping options open ig. Many reasons can make one move to a T2 from a T1, if there are no openings in T1 firms. Could be due to bad team, lack of connection to work, burnout, family issues, and so many other reasons. Money is not the concern for all, though it may be for most, but again health and peace >>> money. If no health and peace, then no learning at work.
