When will the third campus open? VC has granted approval but construction is yet to commence.
Near Salt Lake City Centre, about 2.5 km away from the first campus. That's where the BSc LLB classes are taking place now.
They are not in power in WB and most of the Centre schemes are blocked by the state govt.
After elections. It is expected that the TMC will suffer a setback and then Mamata will go on full populist mode, which will include 2 new campuses and a possible hike to 70% domicile reservation. NKC will oblige her because he wants an extension. Needless to say, this will reduce the funding and also the cosmopolitan character (whatever is left of it) of the NUJS Kolkata campus. The SJA is deliberately apathetic, because they are willing to sacrifice the interests of the college in exchange for high grades.

Interestingly, this comes at a time when the Calcutta High Court has cancelled 25,000 state government school teacher recruitments because of mass corruption, while the education minister is in jail in connection with this same scam. The question to ask is whether NUJS has been immune to the corruption taking place in the state, or are there lots of skeletons in the closet? If the latter, shouldn’t Chandrachud be alerted?
Why bother DYC? What about SS from Cal HC? What about AB from SC while he was on EC? Both looked on while NKC and Co buried all the inquiries that had been initiated by the EC in 2018-20. Doubtful that DD from SC will break from the pattern. When he was in Cal HC in 2014-16, he tasked a retired Cal HC judge (Justice PN Sinha) to do a through inquiry of financial mismanagement by PIB and Co. But that was buried as well. The great Lord Taluk and handpicked Registrars scuttled SJA attempts to have the Justice Sinha Inquiry Report implemented.

Temper your faith in the judicial nominees who adorn the EC. And there is the lived experience of Lord Taluk!
the state government has not allotted the funds yet. that is expected to happen at the next budget. it should take 3-4 years for construction to get completed.
It is ready, the campus is Asansol not Siliguri. How NUJS can open branches like this and take in students after CLAT lists are published, we don't know. In fact, we don't even know how a national law school can open so many state branches. But when you see new students suddenly in July in a new "branch" in Asansol - remember you heard it here first! NOOJIES...what is wrong with you? Still fighting about attendance and aircons?

When the credibility and reputation of the NUJS brand and placements could be at stake? 😂
"how a national law school..." stop ! Just cause there is a national in the name doesn't make it so. All NLUs are state universities. All extra campuses are under the state. Get your facts right, you're a lawyer afterall.
It is a convenient trade off for NKC and his request for an extension which is beyond the age limit of 70 allowed by the NUJS Act. The state will allow it and turn a blind eye to corruption in the education sector in Bengal as revealed by the recent school teacher scam. The real problem is that no one is bothered about quality. There is no problem with opening good law universities in Bengal.

The problem is with dilution of the NUJS brand name. Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh also have more than one NLU. But these are separate universities with separate rankings and placements!! Let there be Asansol National Law University or Siliguri NLU for North Bengal. But not another branch or campus of NUJS which already has expanded to BSc and MSc Forensic Science courses. Further expansion under the same name will simply reduce quality and affect NUJS placements!! Strategically, the administration is silent on this.
It has been on the backburner for 8 yrs now, it was nominally approved in the last days of Ishwara bhatt
Bro, just wait will the election results. Nothing can be said till then.
How is NKC and Co responding to the two writs lodged by an associate professor in Cal HC?

You can check these on Cal HC website. Not a troll
