It was Toyota Corolla Altis for all 30 judges earlier. May be BMW for CJI
No, CJI's black Toyota Camry has been replaced with Mercedes E350D Black edition whereas other SC Judge's white Skoda Superb has been replaced with BMW (don't know series) also Maruti Ciaz (black) given to Judicial Officials posted in Registery replaced with black Toyota Hycross (Hybrid).
CJI is now a Z+ security holder so requires a bullet proof vehicle. very few manufacturers offer that customisation and Merc is one of them.
CJI is not a Z+ security holder.

Previously Dipak Misra had received Z+ security because of Yakub Memon ruling & subsequent threat.

You can spot DYC's convoy at any event or on Tilak Marg. It's not Z+.
This is correct. CJI Gogoi also got Z+ security after the Ayodhya verdict. https://indianexpress.com/article/india/ex-cji-gogoi-gets-z-vip-security-cover-7158025/

I think the other judges on that bench - of whom DYC is the only one still serving - got a lower level (Z or Y+).
All these high ranking people should be given Tata or Mahindra SUVs. Rather government and judiciary should have a system to buy vehicles from Indian manufacturers and only for highly technical reasons, they should buy from foreign manufacturers. These actions may appear to be small but results in fair way to change the mindset of the people and has softer impact on the power play as well. Why do you think Mr. Motilal Oswal bought a Safari and had a PR run for it. Also, for the limited use of driving the judges and ministers etc. within the Lutyen zone, Indian cars are good enough.
Something like a Tata Harrier or Mahindra Scorpio should not be considered crap. Such elitism should go. Judiciary should accept that they are not my lords that they will be given BMW
Govt of India is acquiring a large number of Tata EVs for it's use. Please look up EESL Ltd, the PSU in charge of doing this.
