For example, collecting art or playing polo are out of reach for us. But anything else, which is cheaper but still posh? For example, is it posh to play tennis?
No, itβs not. 2.5 L to use a gym and pool at a premier 5 star hotel in the heart of Delhi is a good bargain. When your salary is 1 cr itβs peanuts.
Bro touch grass sometimes, 1 crore se expenses and saving Karne padhte hai, kab firm ne nikaal diya kya pata. Gym memberships average 20k - 50k for the most posh well equipped gyms. This is waste money. 2.5 lakhs wale gym me flying dumbbells hai kya jo thud shoulders tak aayenge
If the only condition for access is that you pay more money, no one important will go there. They will go to exclusive places that will not let you in, no matter how much money you are ready to throw.
I paid 15k for annual Cult membership (Bangalore). I've worked out in 5 star hotel gyms while staying there, the equipment and amenities seem comparable to Cult. As a gareeb, I'm curious if Clardiges has any better equipment?
I've used the Claridges gym. The equipments is standard (not fancy like Golds Gym) but the decor is nice, it's very clean, you get fruits and lemon water, a swimming pool is included and the hookup scene is great (glamorous TV anchors, lady diplomats from exotic countries etc).
Very good point. Running a marathon costs nothing, but the who's who of Mumbai participate in marathons. So this is a cheap but posh hobby. Also yoga and wellness therapy for girls.
Always the broke people obsessed with "looking" rich. If you spend this energy into actually studying money and building your wealth, would be a better use of your time no?
Aside from the unsolicited advice^ my father and his friends (all vv rich men) play squash, golf, and bridge. See if you enjoy these activities.
I don't understand this question at all: do you pursue hobbies to enjoy the very act of engaging in an activity, or so that you can be considered "posh" by your neighbour? Hopefully, it is the former, but if it is the latter; then you really need to grow-up in life and not be starry-eyed by people who you think are rich or posh.
You guys are all thinking in terms of sports. There are tons of non-sporty hobbies that the rich have, such as whiskey clubs, wine clubs, cigar clubs, jazz clubs etc. Join one of these.
Of course, they do it at establishments which are out of reach for us (very expensive clubs & hotels).

Somehow this post stinks of Delhi!
