I'm in the last trimester of my second year and would be soon applying for Corp Law internships. Just want to know; Should I also apply to practice areas in which I have no work experience in? Does mailing to partners help?? Or should I refrain from doing so.

Try T3s. No decent law firm will take you in the beginning/middle of third year unless you have contacts. Build experience and then at the end of 3rd year/beginning of 4th year, get a T1

You can apply without work experience, look for small firms/commercial disputes lawyers
