No NIMLAC for 3-4 years cause no funds. We have literally one or two events with a prize money pool and all of them get paid months later, some of it cut from the salary of faculties themselves. Students are discouraged from doing moots and other competition (don't even think about adr) cause there's no money. Mess refund funds have been missing for years. Fees keep increasing. First years have to live outside and there's no safety concerns about them. The gym is completely breaking down and being used by more people (including staff) than it can handle. We've to beg for westlaw and maybe we'll get it a year or so later and only if the library reps persevere in following up regularly. The VC and the exam department gives two shits about internships and jobs. Why the fuck should I pay for a blazer cleaning bill along with suffering through all this. Why is noone talking about this?
They switch off the ACs after class and open 1-2 classrooms as reading rooms to save electricity all the while bragging how the solar panels produce so much electricity that they literally sell the extra back to the grid. Brother someone stop that man's house building business
these nlus are charging fee more than an average govt. engineering college and after completing degree giving us placement less than an avg. engineering college.
the actual sad part is that nuals has really good capable students. only if the administration was supportive, forget being facilitators of opportunities or actually helping them out, mere support would make a huge difference.

the admin currently actively makes things worse for their students.
Nothing new. MNLU Nagpur has not paid its faculty salaries properly (only 50%). All NLUs charge exorbitant fees now. The decline of NLUs is real, irrespective of what you hear on this platform.
You maybe an insider so you maybe able to explain well but I usually see NUALS placement committee being very active on Linkedin and posting very routinely about ____ student got placement in _______ firm or in _______ company. How so much placements if the college itself is in a condition you have mentioned?
we've got dismal on campus placements lol. The BO23 had good placements from day zero (still overall hiring numbers were low), otherwise it's mostly all PPOs, and most from internships got outside of the university's internship/placement cell, and even then if you compare with similiar tier NLUs, NUALS placements are shit. If we have anything it's 80% because of the students. Do your research.
We had good placements even when the college was nascent and operating out of a small school building. Majority of the students used to come from rich elite backgrounds so were fairly polished and connected and smart.

But to be honest, Corporate placements are not the only measure of success of an institution. Also, a lot of Nuals people dont prefer corporate jobs, most have enough financial security to pursue litigation at the trial court levels and then form a captive client base and do pretty well into the higher courts.

The Nuals trial court to Supreme Court case pipeline and referral system is pretty solid and efficient.
mods why tf are comments not being posted, it's moving at glacial pace
Wait. Are you telling me, there's no Westlaw access? What about other journals like Manupatra and Scc? I can understand Westlaw not being there all the time, given its an expensive subscription. But in my time we had full access almost at all times.

What do you mean they haven't refunded mess fees? Its supposed to be a separate account, there can't be, if done properly, a lack of refunds, AFAIK.

What is NIMLAC? Maritime law moot?

Yeah the college hardly ever sponsored moots, its USUALLY the really rich kids who aspired or went for such moots. People used to look at private sponsorships even when they went.

But the NUALS institute itself has amazing career prospects. You can join as a student and probably retire as VC there. But provided you're of high birth.
