While you are worrying about such foolish and inconsequential matters, some of your contemporaries are upskilling themselves and working hard and laying the groundwork for a fantastic future for themselves - to be masters of their profession, make a ton of money and live a great life.
If you want to remain so small and exclusive you might find that you wonβt have outsized influence in public life. If you admit more people - and if those people get involved with the local community instead of treating the locals like lesser than in every city- then you might get more
Plus do we really need politicians to visit NLUs? I'd rather it remain apolitical as far as possible
Importance in public life.
- No party manifesto discusses nationalising NLUs, or even improving NLUs
- No politician is visiting NLUs for campaigning, or for a Q&A with students
- No politicians retweeting NLU social media influencers
Just so depressing to see that we don't matter. π’
