So some of these linkedin recruiters claim that all firms have a 6 month cool-off period i.e. if you've applied for a job and you weren't selected, you have to wait another 6 months for your application to be entertained and this supposedly includes emails to hr, partners and anything else. Is it just something they say to discourage people from applying independently and going through them or is it actually a thing? Especially with tier 1 and tier 2 firms, do they actually follow it?
