Currently which NLU or university in India is doing well in tech law ? Who is the leading or potential leading authority or professor in digital/tech law in India ? Anyone have any idea ?
CCG from NLU Delhi does good work in that area. However, it has suffered cuts in its funding. CIIPC used to be really good in IP and Competition law, but now there's hardly any research fellow there. NLS has a project with Meta on LLM but that project is on Consumer Protection, not tech law or policy.

I feel private universities may take the lead in this because of finding that they may recieve.
That's true. I feel once Jindal wins the election, he will push for tech related courses heavily in Jindal.
Tech is a very broad subject. If you talk about IP then Arul Scaria is an authority, for competition law in digital markets, there are many profs in NLS and NUJS.
Among Indian academics, Shouvik Guha has been doing some good interdisciplinary work in AI and law, Jhalak Kakkar and Chinmayi Arun too, among policy people, Ameen Jauhar, Prathmesh Kalamkar, lawyers like Nikhil Narendran, Anirudh Rastogi, Jaideep Reddy, Jyotsna Jayaram, Amlan Mohanty, Vibhav Mithal.
