I remember my constitutional law professor saying that it IS constitutionally permissible to have caste quotas in private universities and also private companies like Tata, Microsoft etc. That’s because all employment is subject to the state and India is a socialist republic as per the amended preamble. So the answer is YES and Rahul ji is right to propose this. A quota is very much needed because the number of PSU jobs is shrinking with disinvestment. SC/ST/OBC people can no longer seek employment in Air India as a matter of right.
I feel we can start with a 30% SC/ST/OBC quota in universities and private companies, which can be hiked to 50% by 2030. Upper castes will not at all be disadvantaged because there are plenty of seats and jobs in the private sector to go around. Also, let us remember that many upper castes go abroad and work for for IT companies, where there is no reservation, so they can continue to do that. There are enough jobs for everyone.

A Tamil Professor said, if the only reason why Hindi should be the National Language of India is because Hindi has the highest number of speakers, then by that logic, Indian STREET DOG should become India's National animal (because we all have seen the dog and it has more numbers than Bengal tiger) and CROW should become India's National Bird (because many might have not seen peacock, but, we all have seen the Crow).
Everyone marries/dates overwhelmingly in their caste. Caste endogamous marriage is not discrimination. Bheem boys never get it, they never understand individual choices.
I am UC gay guy i only prefer dating baniya, kayastha, and khatri not brahmin, thakur, yadav, jaat or any other caste. So am i casteist, no definitely no. I have shared history with these castes i will obviously prefer dating them. There's nothing more to it. No one is obligated to marry/date you. 95 percent of Indians marries in their own caste including OBC(landlord caste included)
Rest of the other discrimination, tell me how does quota solve it ?? Also OBC were never discriminated, basis of giving them reservation is different. Plus OBC reservation is sham, only SC/ST reservation is justified that too with subcategorization and creamy layer like obc.

All statistics clearly indicate that the poor are becoming poorer in the country and the rich are becoming richer. One study says that the divide between rich and poor is worse than what it was during the colonial times. top 10% has more wealth than half the population, more than 22lakh people have gone below the poverty line after 2014, we have the highest number of malnourished children in the world (we have surpassed Africa), our per capita income is worse than Bangladesh, we're in the lowest ranking in the hunger index.
Maybe you should come out of your bubble sometimes and face the reality.

The vision that they had for India was of a modern republic that would stand above differences of religion, caste, region, and language. That republic would focus on improving the lives of all without dishing out benefits in the name of group affiliation. Group affiliation will never allow the country to modernize and industrialize.
The Japanese also had a stifling caste system (including notions of purity before someone suggests that the Indian caste system is different), but what broke that system was not the recognition and empowerment of group identity but true industrialization. Development is the greatest equalizer for any nation. The Congress of today has lost this vision of India by giving into street veto in the name of caste and region in particular. Indira Gandhi began this rot. Rajiv tried to stop it and would have definitely stopped it in his second term had he not been assassinated (the irony is that the present leadership gave into DMK's blackmail on even Rajiv's assassination).
Nehru had the strength to go to UP and Bihar and call out caste divisions, while the present Congress promised a division of the nation along the lines of caste affiliation. The Congress has lost its way by competing with the narrow and feudal-minded regional parties whose only agenda is to make themselves rich through corruption and masking it in the name of social justice.
But again, the present generation knows more about critical race theory than our founders, so no wonder their vision of India is just Black Lives Matter translated into the Indian context.
Their minions like Dhruv rathee and others will surely cry dictatorship but will enjoy other 5 years of modi earning large amount of money from social media while not telling why congress is sinking titanic.

They have promised caste census like bihar and the development that happened after caste census in bihar. Currently bihar is on road to become economic power in next few years.
After that, we should have the Constitution of India amended and have its outdated and often misused terms like "socialist" and “secular” replaced with more precise and ideologically agnostic terms like "equitable".
As a matter of fact, Legally India should keep one thread pinned on page 1 dedicated to collating ideas/ thoughts to update and improve the phrasing and structure of the Constitution. If there can a be dream team for cricket fans why can't there be a dream constitution for lawyers?
With Muslim votes alone it's hard to win.

gala phaad phaad ke chillate rehte ho. Ab bhugto. Aaram se BJP ko vote do. Apna selfish fayda dekho. Aur dissent ko thank you bol ke aage badho. Varna dusri side power me aane ke 85% reservation laaga sakti hai (read about Kapoori Thakur's formula - jitni aabadi utna haq).
I feel we can start with a 30% SC/ST/OBC quota in universities and private companies, which can be hiked to 50% by 2030. Upper castes will not at all be disadvantaged because there are plenty of seats and jobs in the private sector to go around. Also, let us remember that many upper castes go abroad and work for for IT companies, where there is no reservation, so they can continue to do that. There are enough jobs for everyone.
So they basically want a quota in places like BITS Pilani, Manipal, ISB, Ashoka, Jindal, Symbiosis, SP Jain etc.
Two obvious questions here:
1. Is it constitutionally valid to impose such a quota?
2. If an SC/ST/OBC candidate enters ISB or Jindal through quota, he or she will still have to pay the fees. If such a candidate can afford to pay 50 lakhs as fee, can he or she be considered backward? 🤔
