It is an old saying that even a crippled resume when stamped with an NUJS tag makes it good enough to kick start in the law firm market. However it is not the same case anymore, yes I am talking about the BSC LLB course, a course that is quite unpopular in the Alumni circles and will continue to do so. Reason? Simply because it is not the creme de la creme crowd that the NUJS has to offer. I am sorry Yes you heard it right, NUJS usually closes between AIR 100 - 200 and that is the crowd that gets the traction in the market. For BSC that is on Avg AIR 8000-12000??? No scene baby. The Avg BSC resume will be thrown out in a Trash (will land probably outside the bin just how they stay outside NUJS) cause the trash has to be legit to be inside. My juniors from class of 2024 tell me that in the recently elected President has promised them 60+ jobs in favour of vote en masse. As an Alumni who is 4PQE in the Law firm market, let me tell you one thing straight the job scenario for BA LLB (forget BSC) looks difficult with increased use of technology and more people retaining jobs and lateral position swaps. How in NUJS did they allow someone to promise jobs for an election campaign is something that will forever bother me but from what I heard that is not a โpolicy questionโ that has to be answered by the candidate. NUJS enjoy while it lasts - bad times are coming.
If you are the kind of idiot who looks at CLAT rank of a student instead of their CV and performance while in law school, then that is a clear indication of the fact that you are not in the recruiting team of any top law firm in the country. Nobody can promise a job to any BSc student, just like nobody can promise a job to any BA student. If a student works hard in law school, focuses on academics and co-curricular activities and does the necessary internships showing a desire to learn, then they will be given a job. You come across as an existing student who is feeling insecure, that's all.
Clown course by a clown VC. What he should have started instead is either a BBA-LLB course or an LLM-MBA course, with the MBA component offered at any decent business school willing to collaborate with NUJS.
Alum who enjoys NUJS Goss :p
