I heard lot of associates are leaving S&R to join Trilegal. Is it because of handsome pay that is being offered that they are even leaving the year end bonuses at S&R? Whether S&R is doing something about it? Whether more news to come post 31 March?
Nice ya. SR lawyers deserve a good office. Long overdue. Everyone must be very happy with this development.
Losing lofty expectations that aren't aligned with billables is akin to losing deadwood. Look at the non-existent capital markets at Trilegal πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
That’s what’s left now since M&A is severely depleted and everyone knows what kind of deals S&R CM is doing these days. So it says more about the situation there than anything else.
Get your facts Sir, M&A for years has been the biggest practice group at S&R
S&R has always been market leader in paying Associates so would be surprised if it is for money. Trilegal has been making a lot of noise and attracting Associates across Law Firms (not only S&R) who appears are either more narrow sited if they are getting attracted by the noise or perhaps did not fit well with S&R (in this case). The way Trilegal is going with inorganic growth, it is a bubble waiting to burst.
What bubble? They have been hiring strategically and in the coming days when there is going to be more work than now then we will see which firm is better placed to take on that work and especially cap marks
The intentional spelling mistake of β€˜sited’ does hide anything mam.
Is this confirmed though? I thought S&R is generally known for its good culture and mentorship values for its juniors, right? How has this perception eroded this quickly?
So then would you guys recommend joining S&R?

What would the final verdict be, can anyone please paint an honest picture as to what is happening at the Mumbai office especially?

Would be really helpful to get some insights, thanks!
S&R is known for their culture and mentorship. In last 5 years of experience in legal Industry, I have seen many brilliant minds, with exceptional understanding of law coming out of S&R.

Trilethal, a factory, may offer "lucrative" packages and fancy parties - they do not offer it out of their pockets (and those packages are mostly bonuses which you may or may not get).

Will not recommend joining a factory.
Heard trilegal CM has been poaching left right and centre across taking a piece out of law firms
What is Trilegal and S&R paying to A0s and A1s? Can someone give an accurate salary comparison?
Sorry for asking this again, but: -

For someone debating this issue, do consider the fact that S&R is extremely selective. It’s not a mass hirer like Trilegal.
