Brother only issue here is they increase batch strength.Otherwise there is no such discrimination here. Placement are at par with upper tier 3 nlus. And if your dream is NDA,CDS or other government departments jobs like Sebi,Rbi, Jag or Judiciary. You will find ail a perfect match for you. Only con is placement are pretty average you have to do lots of efforts by yourself for your placements which I think not a big issue because all the tier 3 Nlus also face this issue.

I studied in Army Schools throughout my school life, albeit more than a decade and a half ago, and I never felt there was any systemic discrimination between children of officers and jawans. Sure, there were assholes on both sides, but they were the exceptions rather than the norm. I felt that it took me time to get used to the crowd and "fit in" even in my law school (one of the older NLUs) since I had a sheltered childhood and law school was a wild place.

It's like an Army Public School but in the form of college. A lot of fun if your dad is an officer and you'll find all your school friends there. If your dad is an NCO etc then it might be more difficult to "fit in" at the start but everyone's generally kind. As I keep saying, it's same as an APS

The placements are pretty good for a non NLU, much better than likes of RML and RGNUL. You can check their Placement page on LinkedIn for the exact breakdown. They focus more on in house companies and insurance companies so Wipro, ICICI, HSBC, Citi are regular recruiters.

Coming to your query related to JAG it's the best preparatory law school for that. You'll be in that atmosphere where a good portion of your batch will be preparing for JAG. My personal advice is JAG is very unpredictable, there are very less number of seats and SSB is not everyone's cup of tea.

Don't narrow yourself down so much. focus on enjoying your law school and see if other areas interest you. Take a call in 4th year. Anyway, AIL is a fantastic place to be, the crowd is amazing, the admin is a bit regressive and Mohali is a great place to do college.
