As a faculty member at JGU, let me say that we all have a choice whether to take administrative positions. Those who are compliant and do not think critically are often the ones who do so. Career progression takes precedence over genuine concern for students and other faculty. In the case of Karan, I do not think he had to make a major compromise in relation to his values - his political views are well documented.
