- Mukundan has given Newslaundry a clarification about what he actually said. He also said he has got death threats.

- Chief Proctor and RGNUL alum Karan Latayan identified by Newslaundry as a key figure. He has emailed students informing them that β€œdoing politics” is banned and has banned the Safdar Hashmi Reading Circle and the Revolutionary Students League.

- Confirmed that students have held a protest on campus (completely blacked out by mainstream media)

Nair is historically accurate in his claim of temples being built over viharas. This is a good example of outrage over selective misrepresentation. Shame on JGU
Multiple places in Odisha, a few in MP. Just google the stuff, man.
You'll find multiple examples, with detailed analysis of inscriptions, travelogues, sovereign records, and medieval court literature in the historian D. N Jha's book "Against the Grain".
Budha was born some 2000 years ago and only after that any Vihara came. Temples are in existence for at least 5000+ years. Viharas might be old temples which were taken back.
Ah yes, the incontrovertible power of the "might" despite being provided literature which proves the contrary.
Karan Latayan is not the bad guy. He is merely following the orders of the boss. The boss is a big coward to hide behind Karan and not come out openly. The boss has been openly cosying up to the BJP.
The whole thing is a cringefest. Cringe rich kids acting commie. Cringe admin sucking up to BJP.
I am against the suspension of the students for something very basic - the right to organize and express their opinions freely (regardless of whether one agrees with the students' views or not). Now more than the posters and discussion group what I find shocking is the students were previously told they would be supspended for distributing Nazariya, a marxist magazine (later retracted). Shame on JGU indeed. https://www.the-edict.in/post/jindal-retracts-the-suspension-of-protesting-students-calls-it-a-matter-of-perception
Apparently a Alumni from Jindal who works at Khaitan as a associate was found to have offensive views about Hinduism.
