While everyone thought that bringing in Harry Chawla and his team would bring in stability post RKLβs demise, it has just done the opposite. Both, old and young blood (Asim and Avirup as examples) have left the firm. Is this ship never going to stabilise? I think itβs time other partners take cue and move on. There is some good talent still stuck in that firm.
Not sure who has one between Luthra and Saraf. Both firms are bleeding talent.
That's not the point. Though this happens all the time, the point is that people who have been loyal to Luthra have been leaving. Aniket S being the other example. The manner in which this whole thing is happening is whats getting attention.
Wonder whats on the cards for LL. A foreign merger probably?
Aniket was on the liability side of the balance sheet for a while. The banking practice was alone because of only one person. No prizes for correct guesses there.
This firm is declining soon. But yes, there is good talent and partners with good books. A smart firm will cherry pick these folks. There is nothing Harry (or his flunky Vij) has to offer these guys.
The family has been really done in by Vij and Harry. They are skimming and fooling the firm. The CFO and COO are fudging accounts and reporting small profits to the family and other partners. This is Vij's way of making money in his sixties. He hasn't worked a day in any advisory consulting firm and suddenly started hounding partners and implementing policies to help MP and his friends steal from the partnership.
Policies are amended to suit MP, Vij and Bhasin. The HR browbeat the junior lawyers and harass them.
More partner departures are on the cards. One the profitable partners leave, Vij Bhasin and MP can manage themselves.
Vij has vision and experience. Not sure why Luthra lawyers/partners think they are better than back office workers. Vij has managed back office and can manage a law firm too. Make him the MP.
Havenβt all the profitable partners already left the firm? Those left are largely the ones that entirely rely on the firm to feed them with clients/work or are in their 60s enjoying their post retirement gig. Therefore, all thatβs remains of Luthra at partner level is an uninspiring and self serving bunch of laggards.
