I read somewhere that once you clear the AOR exam and are admitted to the Supreme Court as AOR, you have one months time to employ a registered clerk. How much is the salary that is usually paid to a registered clerk? Is this requirement followed in practice? Let's say someone with no matters becomes an AOR, will that person have to pay the clerk without earning anything? If there are not matters, what will the clerk do?
Clerks charge anywhere between a few thousands to a few Lakhs.

.

Requirement of employing a clerk is a mandatory failing which your status as an AoR can be revoked. Clerk is an employee, you have to pay them. if there are no matters, clerk will chill with boss
But some clerks really make that much. Clerks of some senior advocates drive cars that starting lawyers can't. In 2015, the main clerk of a senior had purchased a Brezza. Clerks of some super-seniors do even better.
