Sign of the economy, or are these 72 students just not good enough? Remember that IIM batches too have swelled with increase in quotas, so it could be a general problem of batch size.

top ones will always make it through even when the winds don’t favour, can’t the same about others
An MBA + LLB combo is still a very good combo. Also, please remember that IIML has reached out to alumni and the 72 unrecruited students will probably get something. In the long term they will be better placed than LLB grads.
True. An MBA, a CA and even a bcom will always surpass a lawyer in the long term. People still don't understand that our really speciality is litigation. Courts are our bread and butter. That's where we need to focus on. That's where we get the most respect from the public. In corporate you're just another clerk.
Populism and politics will always hurt placements. IIMs at least have more merit seats and somewhat decent faculty. NLUs are now saddled with all sorts of reservation seats and very bad faculty.
As a law student/graduate/lawyer, you cannot and should not compare yourself with any other profession because the minimum requirement gives us the job, which loads of people are not willing to accept, i.e litigation. Stop chasing law firms and sitting at home if you don't get a law firm job. Instead take your degree, enroll, clear aibe and start practicing. We are fortunate enough to have a bar exam that's so low that it should even be called a bar. Simply start practicing.
