What I have observed in 10 years of law firm and in house experience. I have observed one thing - martial status and partner behavior is closely linked,
Male Partners who are
1. Divorced
2. In Unhappy Marriages - you can easily spot
3. Doesn't spend any time with families/kids.
Are the worst in the Industry. They want to transfer their personal life patterns to everyone who work with them. They also perform shit and put all blame on Associates.
Additionally, Female Partners who have never married/ is childless can be equally bad for your health and happiness. They work 24*7 and expect juniors to have same life as they have. Not taking names, but few unmarried/childless female partners are as worse as a divorced partner. They don't consider the fact that you have a life outside office.
If you have luxury of choosing a team - choose a team where the partner has a happy married life, potentially with kids. More than the number of deals they have closed or professional credentials. It's easy to know these details as it is open secret within a firm.
Not judging people with dysfunctional personal lives, but often I have observes these are people with whom you don't want to work with.
My sample size is low. Also unfortunately, many partners unfortunately have disfunctional personal lives.
People just want to one-up the next person , thats how they derive their selfworth. Lawyers want to be known as their Avtar of Salmond or Bentham and behave like know- it-all.
Workplace politics is worst in law, smallest achievement (say, getting adjournment) is overly glorified and smallest mistake (putting wrong date in diary) becomes reason of next 2 weeks of off-handed comments and abuse.
I have been on both sides.
Further they will also expect you to be available on ur vacation or days off since they are available for providing client services and so should you.
If raise any voice or try to avoid working for a weekend.. you may also be given a warning that this is not how it works.. u may need to think about leaving the law firm.
On non working Saturdays she would ask me to make a list of dates and events by Monday Morning of lieterally all the docuements that we receievd from the Client just the previous night.

So every time A single person behaves in ways you don't like, you decide that it must be because of their singleness. It might be because they have acidity, or insecurity or that they are assholes but that wouldn't serve your hatred of single women.
I had a T1 partner in Noida whose wife works in London, so his weekends would be free.
I think he worked on Sunday evenings.
He would call me to give work, review my work on Sunday afternoons around 4pm, even when it is not urgent and would call me to discuss as if it is a normal working day.
Did not make any sense to me till I realised his wife does not live with him. That is also a factor.
Or maybe you focus on your work and earn merit rather than whining?

They always showed how long hours they put in office (cuz they have no life), unnecessarily make advisories and transactions overcomplicated to the point that no one could understand what they want to achieve (even clients started to complain).

Both male and female partners who are unmarried or divorced are bad for work life balance. And they emit toxicity. Known fact.
