1. India's foreign policy has NEVER been blind support for Israel's war crimes. India's long standing foreign policy is supporting the 2 state solution. Recently, when the incumbents started deviating from it on twitter, the spokesperson for the MEA reiterated that India supports a 2 state solution.

2. ICJ judges are supposed to be independent members and not 'representatives' of their country of origin. The ICJ President, who happens to be American, also supported each and everyone of the provisional measures announced by the court. The judges likely didn't want to put their credibility at stake, at least while the bombs still rain down over Gaza. History will not be kind to the Ugandan judge who voted against each and every provisional measure - even the namesake ones which the Israeli judge signed on to.

3. You clearly have no idea about the workings of the court or the proceedings in the instant case. No. Please see the conditions one must fulfil to be eligible. Only someone who is, or is eligible to be holding the highest judicial office of the country may be nominated. In India this would mean that only incumbent CJIs or SC judges in line of succession through seniority would be deemed eligible. The selection pool in India is rather small, at any given point of time.

What do you mean going against the government? As a judge, he is supposed to be independent. That is also literally what the other judges did. Nobody voted on country positions, except ad hoc judges. That is not how international courts work.

Before questioning someone else's international law credentials, focus on your own first.

The duty of a judge in the ICJ is not to parrot the foreign policy adopted by his parent country. That's what diplomats are there for. People who follow this government blindly have a stroke anytime someone refuses to tow the party line, even if that happens in course of duty.
