Hi, please answer a few more queries of mine.

Is it true that marking in a few streams is easier than in others? (I've heard that marking in BA is atrocious while BSW has the most lenient checking, BBA and Bcom somewhere in the middle)

Which stream would you recommend if one wants to maintain a good GPA?

Would being from humanities background prove to be a disadvantage while studying BBA/Bcom (for e.g. problems in understanding concepts, coping up with the syllabus)

And how difficult is it to cope with the change from school to college in terms of academics? Will it be manageable (in BBA/BA) if one studies regularly?
The toppers are equally from BA and BBA. Avoid BSW, the subjects don't have much use, the teachers are bad, and placements are lower.
Is the checking in BA really horrendous? Or the perception is such because students study a day before the exam? Can one score good in BA with regular studies?
BA is relatively the hardest. Scoring in this subject is also going to be the batch average just because 50+% of the batch opts for this.

B.Com/ BBA you can score crazy marks provided you are good at it. 3-4 students every year get a 90+ score in accounts and FIM and MANY get 80+. But it can also backfire if you are not good at it. Some kids fail in these subjects as well. So it can go either way.

B.SW on average you will get decent marks so it is the safest option if you want to chill but you won't get the upside of B.Com/ BBA.

B.Sc is similar to B.SW in terms of marks but IMO requires the most amount of effort with all the lab work and records and whatnot.
BA LLB (Hons): Most students' first preference. 1st Sem subjects such as political science and economics are considered a bit tough due to the answer writing style required and the strict checking of the answer sheets. Produces a decent no of Gold Medalists. People from all the 10+2 streams flourish as the subjects get easier as one progresses.

B.Com LLB/BBA LLB (Hons): The classroom is filled with students who studied Commerce during their 10+2 period; however, one will find a few people from science backgrounds. People with a science background must learn more, especially the accounting basics. The papers are pretty scoring if one prepares well for the exams, thus helping one maintain a healthy CGPA. The only difference between B.Com LLB students (specific financial markets & accounting related subjects) & BBA LLB students

( Specific Marketing/Management related subjects) are a few subjects, and common subjects are taught in a joint classroom session. Produces Gold Medalists. Placements wise most of the people get placed with companies & law firms alike. Some In-House job openings are primarily available for students from these two streams. The faculties are decent for both streams.

BSC LLB (Hons): This stream is highly preferred amongst students with a science background. One needs to be interested in Forensic Science, Physics, etc., to score well in this stream. Evaluation through practicals does happen & thus, one needs to prepare well enough to maintain a healthy CGPA in this stream. Placement: Some students get placed in Law firms/In-House, some prepare for UPSC/Judiciary & some go for litigation. Produces Gold Medalists.

BSW LLB (Hons): This stream is considered the least demanding among all the streams. The subjects are more philosophical; field trips are also organized for students. Students can score decent marks if they study from the prescribed reading material & also from senior's notes. Placement wise:

Most students in this stream either prepare for UPSC/Judiciary or go for Litigation by applying for the GLASS Scholarship offered by GNLU; in rare cases, some get placed in Law firms/In-House.
As a third-year student at GNLU, there are hardly any other batch in college right now who would know the streams better than we do. The truth is, your streams are irrelevant in the sense that having BSW doesn't decrease your chance of getting placed, and BBA doesn't increase your chances. What really matters are your marks and batch ranking but the stream you choose will basically decide how likely you are to score well and that way streams are very relevant.

B.Com/BBA & BSc: These streams bless students with the highest marks. In fact, most of our batch toppers are only at the top because they were gifted with arbitrary marks from these streams. The professors are also very reasonable, and some basically give marks for free.

BA: The toughest out of all the streams, and you will need to work extremely hard to get marks. If you're a sincere student, you will succeed, but make sure you work very, very hard, or avoid this stream because not all students manage to get marks.

BSW: Probably the worst stream mainly because the professors won't give marks, no matter how well you write. They have a certain threshold and don't raise that. Also, the professors here are the most unreasonable and barely know anything about their subjects. But if you want to just chill or get decent marks, you can take this stream. It's extremely difficult to be in the top 5 of your batch from this stream because of how you are marked, but it's easy to pass or score above average. BSW students do go on multiple field trips though if you're interested in that.
This is the most accurate reply so far as far as the marking pattern is concerned. Marking in BSW is not the most lenient, you can expect average marks but not too over the top.

Also, if I remember correctly, if you came from a humanities background, you would only be asked for a preference between BA and BSW. Has this changed, assuming such a change is possible to begin with?
