Gen Corp remains the preferred choice for most T1 interns. Why? What are its benefits? My friend did one internship and he found it as clerical as any other field. Of course it was an internship.

But why do people choose Gen Corp. I know Cap Mark is the most hated, M&A makes the most revenue and in T1 firms all associates and senior associates are paid equally across fields (right?) Then why Gen Corp? Does it offer an easy exit to in-house?
Most openings are in gencorp + it is not as boring as some other practice areas. Niche fields like competition or TMT may be more interesting but job prospects remain low.
Always vacancy. Easier to shift teams once you get your foot in the door.
